(Anonymous) 2014-01-25 05:14 am (UTC)(link)Sometimes, white-dominated societies develop for reasons which make sense (or made sense at the time) and are realistic.
Case #1 - Denmark. White people in constant control of the same territory for centuries, a society that not a lot of POCs migrate into (for whatever reason). Neighboring countries full of white people, most immigrants also white.
Case #2 - select Early American settlements, select 20th-century American suburbs. White people from insular communities move across the ocean to form more-insular communities. Prejudice, fear, economics, ignorance, and/or religious intolerance keep POC members out.
Case #3 - Apartheid-era South Africa, pre-Civil War American South. A white minority controls the society, POCs are marginalized.
