I vaguely remember hearing that a lot of MASH fans were so taken with a female extra in the opening credits that they actually found a way to get ahold of casting records from when it was filmed and found out who she was. Not 100% sure it was this woman, nor do I have any idea where to find out what they found out.

If you are purely talking of the fictional character she represents, sounds like a job for fic!

I've been composing snippets of MASH fanfic in my head ever since I was a kid watching the reruns with my dad. A lot of speculative fic about the inevitable ways the war changed Charles and fic about Hawkeye's childhood in Crabapple Cove, Maine and his inability to adjust to its slower paced life after the war, plus reunion fic with BJ and Hawkeye. Most especially though, I liked POV fic from the tertiary characters like the unnamed nurses. I loved that the show seemed to tap into that when they did that one episode about Nurse Kelly.
