Have any fandom things that annoy you, even though you know it's kind of dumb to be bothered by them?

There's been an explosion of genderbent Frozen sister art lately that's gotten really popular. I know it's silly, but it seems to be all I see now and I hate it. Part of why I liked Frozen is because of the dynamic between the sisters. ElsoandAndyorwhateveryou'dcallthem is kind of meh for me.

Everybody complaining about Pokébank.

More like they're complaining that they don't have it yet.

From my understanding, when it initially launched in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, so many people registered Nintendo ids that it overwhelmed their servers and they stopped distribution, so the people who registered before the server issues could use it, but no one else. They recently relaunched it for the areas that got for the initial launch, but there hasn't been a new release date for the other areas. There are plans to release it, though.

So people are complaining about favoritism for Asian countries, complain about it on any of the Pokémon's social media updates, and apparently have harassed Junichi Masuda, the current director of the series, to the point he's temporarily quit twitter.

I mean, I get being disappointed about a month or so delay, but I've gotten tired of all the complaining.

...Well, Pokemon is made in Japan. It would make sense for them to test it first in Japan and nearby countries.

I feel sorry for Junichi Masuda.

I'm just happy there's a free trial and that if I use it I can get a Celebi. I guess I'm used to waiting.

The entire Frozen fandom is annoying me right now. No particular reason, just because it's everywhere. And whenever my younger sister gets back from school, she immediately puts on the soundtrack really damn loud and nothing short of turning off the computer will get her to turn it down. ~~I could probably bear it just a bit better if the songs were all that good, but no.~~

I'm annoyed by the general trend towards Fusions rather than straight up Crossovers. And then mislabeling them all as Crossover fic.

It really bugs me, in fandoms for serial works in particular, when the activity that usually makes up the bulk of any given episode is relegated to generic background noise and/or convenient, featureless facilitation for the epic romance story of the OTP. (This only applies to long multi-chapter fics, of course, not to short fics or fics that take place over a very short timespan.)

I don't think I have a problem with it per se, only with the fact that it's SO DAMN COMMON.

I'm a little annoyed at the gijinka of the notebook from Don't Hug Me I'm Scared that Tumblr is currently enamored of, because the personality they give her feels more like a representation of the series as a whole than of that particular character. But that's not something I'm mad about or anything, just mildly miffed.

I can kind of get that, yeah.

I'm also annoyed with the whole OMG THAT ARTIST TRACES thing. I don't give a crap what they do. The fandom ran so far with their designs that it doesn't matter anymore. Lots of people draw them! And better! And (probably) without tracing!

I've unfollowed this SJWish Sherlock fan on tumblr, but now they popped up in an ACD canon fannish place I frequent. And I just. No.

Frozen annoys me, too. I wish it went away already.

In the Attack on Titan manga one character made a throw-away joke about Jean having a horse-face.

Fandom responded by driving this joke into the ground.

2014 is the Chinese year of the horse.

My favorite LJ fic comm which is built on weekly challenges has a dreamwidth mirror but the moderator has to do the cross-posting. They haven't updated the DW comm since before Christmas and it's pissing me off because more than half the times I've tried to go to the LJ comm, LJ is down. I don't have unlimited free time and it pisses me off that I can't read the new fic because the mod refuses to allow us to do the crossposting and isn't doing the work themselves. I would even be happy with hosting it on AO3 but the moderator doesn't like AO3. I want to scream!

I'm irrationally annoyed that most players in FFXIV are cat people. I've never understood the fascination with cat people.

I'm also annoyed that most of the Tumblr tag is RP and from one or two certain servers. Neither of which apply to me. Which kind of sucks, because for all the hate I generally enjoy Tumblr once I filter stuff out, and wouldn't mind having tumblr friends for that fandom, but not enough in common there. Maybe it's a sign to stick with the people I play with, who are old online and irl friends. :P
