There's a lot more to Disney than just animated movies.

Both my parents watched Disney movies growing up (Disney’s been making movies a long time). They also watched the Mickey Mouse Club and Disney cartoon shorts (there are some really lovely ones out there – Lambert the Sheepish Lion, The Little House, Pigs Is Pigs, The Truth About Mother Goose, etc.). Then there was Disneyland, which my family has visited several times over the years.

A big part of Disney, for me, was the Walt Disney anthology television series (under the names likeThe Wonderful World of Disney, Disney's Wonderful World, Walt Disney, The Disney Sunday Movie, The Magical World of Disney) which showed some of the older movies like Swiss Family Robinson or Peter Pan, originals and sequels like The Girl Who Spelled Freedom, I-Man, Mr. Boogedy, The Parent Trap II, The B.R.A.T. Patrol, The Thanksgiving Promise, Young Harry Houdini, Bride of Boogedy, Not Quite Human, The Return of the Shaggy Dog, Student Exchange, Earth*Star Voyager, Rock 'n' Roll Mom, The Parent Trap III, Not Quite Human II, The Parent Trap: Hawaiian Honeymoon and oh, so many more.

Also, at some point I watched MMC. My younger siblings had those sing-along tapes (and played them incessantly). And, yes, I did watch some of the animated movies that came out. I’m sure some of the feelings I have are due to nostalgia, but Disney was a big presence in my life. So, yeah, I did buy into the Disney magic. But if it wasn't that for you, then it wasn't.
