It's a rule of mine not to hate characters or pairings or anything, but good god, I really want to hate this pairing. Just because it is EVERYWHERE.

What I want is more Sally/Noin. Fuck, that'd be a hot pairing. That scene where Sally rescues Noin and they escape and it's just the sexiest thing ever? Yeah.

I tried hard to reject the idea, but then that episode where Potemayo is sick and refuses to let Sunao go... ;_; And then that one with the valentine chocolate... Yeah, I couldn't resist. ):

Seeing Sunao smile like that with a happy, caring Potemayo really made me wibble.

28. I think Gundam Wing is part of the older kind of fandom; the one where everyone had the same OTPs and almost no one ever ventured outside of them. Slam Dunk is another good example of this, I think. Series nowadays has the majority of the fans shipping everyone with everyone -- whether it's total crack pairings (such as characters from different fandoms that had a pairing originate in some RP game) or just something done purely for the lulz. There are exceptions of course *cough*Kyo Kara Maoh*cough*, but as a general rule I think it applies fairly well. I hope that made sense... orz

That said, I don't think you can really compare 1X2 to those other pairings you listed. Those are well-known rival pairs, and Heero and Duo weren't anything like that (IMHO at least).

Agreeing with you all the way! Although with SD, I can't help but wonder if people stick with the same standardized couples because Inoue-sensei's characterizations make it difficult to imagine crack pairings...how could authors realistically justify Hikoichi/Kiyota or Haruka/Miyagi?

I read tons of GW fanfics back in the day and remember being avalanched by the sheer amount of 1x2 and 3x4, but any big fandom's going to have those drawbacks...I'm sure HP suffers from the same woes.
