the tv is constantly on in my house. constantly. from when my grandma gets up at 5 AM until when my mom goes to sleep after midnight, it's on. it's never quiet. i can't stand it.

I would lose my mind! My SO always has the TV on but we each have some time in the house when the other is at work, and they respect my wishes about having the TV off during meal times. Sometimes we plan to eat while watching a movie or something and that helps even things out for us.

OMFG. I would kill over that. I *cannot stand* constant noise like that.

I had a friend that every time I went to visit at their home and we entered a new room they would turn on the tv (living room/bedroom/KITCHEN) regardless of whether we were going to watch it or not. It was so annoying.

My dad always did that. We bought him some headphones so that he could hear the TV and we could have some silence. Still too much TV. We bought him an iPad, and for now, the iPad is diverting him and the problem is solved.

Ugh, they do this in the break work where I work. The menu for the DVD will be playing for an hour, and no-one turns it off. And they play it on full volume, which is simply too loud, when no-one's a) paying attention or b) around. -_-*
