The Last of Us - 10/10 (Better than I could have hoped for! Superb game-play and acting; thrilling story. The only complaint I have about LOU is that sometimes there's a bit too much fighting, but it didn't bother me enough to reduce the score.)

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim - 8/10 (Skyrim doesn't get a higher score because of its abundance of bugs and glitches, but given the depth and scope of the game I deem them understandable. It's an impressive game with SO much to do, but it can be tedious at times.)

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - 7.2/10 (NGL, this game is a fucking mess, but it's still good fun and the universe is wonderful; had it been properly finished it could've been a 9.)

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - 8.5/10 (The game-play was brilliant, but BF feels more like a pirate game than an AC game. The cast was fantastic, but the story didn't pick up until well into the game; until the last couple hours this was one of my least favorite AC stories.)

God of Blades - 7.6/10 (An addicting Android/iTunes game. Not a lot of story, but great game-play and interesting visuals. It's way too short.)

Dishonored - 10/10 (Almost perfect! A wonderful challenge and compelling game-play and story.)

Tomb Raider - 9.2/10 (Surprisingly well polished game with a solid story and exhilarating game-play.)

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - 9.4/10 (Insane game-play but also stupidly, ridiculously fun in a way few games are. Also...Raiden is fucking hot.)

Hahhaha for me the bugs are part of what makes Skyrim good. It just wouldn't be the same if I didn't have 40 or so copies of the same character milling around together in a mob every time I visit Whiterun.

I believe I have already commented on my issues with Dishonored, but I did think it was pretty great despite them.

I scored Tomb Raider lower because of the compulsory multiplayer trophies for one of the shittiest multiplayers I have ever seen implemented in any videogame. The single player campaign is just fine and there's just no reason to tack on that mess of an L4D lookalike.

lmao, I don't mind some of the bugs, mind you. Some of them are incredibly amusing or even helpful at times, but others that hinder your progress or make the game more difficult are a pain in the ass. (For instance, bugs that stop you from completing quests or frequent freezing, those are fucking awful. But dead dragons twitching or weapons duplicating are best.)

Yea, I don't recall having many problems with Dishonored but if the controls or movement felt off to you that'll definietly put a damper on things.

I didn't even touch Tomb Raider's multiplayer so I can't comment on it, but I think a lot of games include multiplayer 'just cause' and it isn't necessary. People aren't buying Tomb Raider for the multiplayer...

Completely agree on TLOU, Skyrim, DH and MGR (those are the only ones I played out of that list.) Your ratings are spot on -- TLOU is basically my AAA GOTY.

Wheeeeeeeee, I opinion good.

Do you hope we get a sequel to TLOU? I've seen both sides of the subject, but personally feel very conflicted about the thought of a second game. Naughty Dog are good at what they do, but the game left off at such a perfect place that I'm afraid a second game would 'ruin' things for me. I think this is one case where they should let things lie.

(I know it's kind of early, but...just a thought. They could also introduce new characters and tell a new story in the same universe, but I'm not sure I want that. This felt like a very one shot story to me.)

Honestly, I feel like it should involve completely different characters with a completely different cast dynamic. My reasoning is that Joel and Ellie's story feels like it's done, but there's a lot of stories that could be told in the TLOU universe. The game touched very little on the military, outside of recreating the first half of Half-Life 2 in the opening parts of the game; I feel like there's room to explore on that.

That is very true. ND could make it work, but no one would want a repeat of Joel and Ellie's relationship. And you're right, those two shouldn't be touched again; the game left off at a great spot and continuing with it now would feel weird, I think.

A new story would be best. Something dealing more intimately with the military could probably convince me...

Definitely agree on TLOU score, I'm still working my way through it but it is so very good, it's one of the games where I love the story.

Only managed to play a bit of Tomb Raider but I liked what I saw, might have to get a copy and actually finish the whole thing one day.

I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Once I picked it up I didn't want to put it down; I just needed to see how things would end. Taking is slow has its advantages too though, I imagine.

Tomb Raider is well worth it imo. It's one of the most solid titles I've played in a couple years. It's very consistent.

Hmmm. I should have expected that Raiden comment. ;)

Yes, you really should have.
