How boring you find Cole really depends on how you play Infamous and Infamous 2, I think. Contrary to what I assumed, doing the evil playthrough (in both games) really made him a more boring character than doing the good playthrough. Which is...weird and counterintuitive, but true for me at least.

I'd have to score ME2 way lower than you - I'd give it around 7/10 - but I was never a fan of it. I played male Shep, which may have had something to do with it, but I was constantly pissed off about how smarmy the character was despite my best efforts, and the lack of romance options that I was actually interested in. I didn't like Liara at all which really meant the shoehorned love plot was tiresome, and the characters I would have liked to romance (Kasumi and Zaeed) were both unromanceable due to being DLC.

Oh jeeze, and here I was thinking that being evil might make him more interesting, I played as good and couldn't stand him. Idk, maybe I'd have more fun just blowing shit up as evil rather than being good.

I played fem!Shep from the get go but my bf told me that fem!Shep is the better of the two as he's played both. Yeah, having no romance options you liked would suck, I got Garrus(in ME2) as fem!Shep and was perfectly happy with that because I also had no interest in romancing Liara.
