I took it as read that Jonji was a big-time crook, the kind of guy who can skate out of being detained as easily as he can hook you up with passports later. Most people you meet are just regular folks whose lives are being irrevocably warped for better or worse by the quick decision you make with that damn stamp.

This. Plus a number of the people you have to deny can't come back because then leaving was, basically trying to escape from someone.

Jorji was my favorite part of the game, but that one line "I have business in Arstotzka" pretty much confirmed to me that this guy was neck deep in some shady shit.

was gonna say thsst. there are criminals, and they'll figure out a way to game any system. the fact that they csan and more innocent people can't is part of what makes the systemn u nfair,
