I keep coming up with favorites only to remember there was eventual romance in them. Seven/Doctor for Voyager and Mulder/Scully are two off the top of my head that I loved, but alas.

(Now I'm wondering if I'm mis-remembering the Seven/Doctor thing...that had awkward romance at some point, didn't it?)

It was very one-sided, as I recall. The Doctor was Seven's first friend, but he sort of developed additional feelings for her that she did not seem to return. If I remember correctly.

Ah yes, I thought it was something like that but then I had sudden memory doubts.

re: D/7. They did, although it was stronger on his side they both had a tentative thing starting when he screwed it up.

I love their friendship but I also ship it like burning. I wish there HAD been a definite romance, C/7 came out of left field and slayed me with confusion and DNW, lol

Yeah, the suddenly!Chakotay romance was an entire barrel of WTF for me.

C/7 totally came otu of left field! I have never had a more wtf moment than with that ship. And yeah, totally did not want. I actually like my 7 non-sexual or asexual. I prefer my 7/D platonic, but 7/D could work for me just not the way it was written.

I can totally see Seven as non-sexual, and the Doctor is not particularly sexual himself--but I could see them romantically involved...but like you say, the way it was written it didn't work out.

I had missed a bunch of episodes towards the end of the last season of Voyager due to being out of the country, so when I saw the finale and C/7 suddenly popped up, I assumed it had been built up over the episodes I'd missed and wasn't as WTF to everyone else. Then I asked around a bit and was told, no, that really did just come out of nowhere and we're all WTF about it, too.

When I first read Seven/Doctor, I thought it was a typo. But I like Seven/Ace's relationship in Doctor Who, even though it's more of a mentor relationship :)
