My cousin is driving me crazy and I blame Edward Snowden for it. Ever since it was revealed from one of his leaks that the US and UK governments are collecting information from twitter and youtube accounts, he has been ranting how awful it is to have those governments spying on the everyone. And how unfair it is. To which I say, "Yes, spying on the most open to the public, anyone can see what you are doing and you want people to follow you and see what you are doing sites." Hacking into people's private e-mail accounts, I can see. But youtube and twitter? Come on. Anyone can gather information about you with those. Not just the government. Of course he retorts, "But they are gather vasts amounts and such incredible rate!" Thing is, anyone can do this too but it will take them a little while longer.

Fuck Snowden for making my already annoying, paranoid cousin even more annoying and paranoid.

I can guarantee that governments are not the only ones gathering mass amounts of data from Twitter and other such sites.

Personally, I'd be more afraid of big business than the government. I'm not doing anything that would put me on any government watch list but I am sure I am under the eyes of corporations that want my money using any means necessary.
