(Anonymous) 2014-01-30 02:12 am (UTC)(link)But the thing is, feminism is not a "party" - it's a movement, yeah, but it's super divided. We all agree that women should have the same basic rights as men, but passed that, how to address issues gets tricky. Feminism is, if anything, a philosophy without a strict definition. So if you believe in gender equality, you're a feminist.
I don't know much about MRA, to be totally honest, but I wouldn't go that route - just call yourself a "gender equalist" if you're concerned about the connotations of the word feminist, and want to talk about both men's and women's issues (though I personally feel that feminism can include men's issues, too)
