Use fresh fruits (including the "veggie" fruits - tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.) for snacks. Soups are good too. Not the heavy creamy type, the lighter, not too greasy kind. If you are buying the store or canned soups, watch out for salt content. I find them to be on the heavy side usually so I dilute them and use them as base for my own soups.

There are toning/strengthening exercises you can do at home too. I like doing sit-up and stuff between readings. Calisthenics, yoga, taichi, whatever. They don't (usually) need any external equipment to perform so I find it easy to switch between work and exercise.
