I hate that this has become some sort of contest. We need more queer women in media and we need more women who don't care about romance. It's not a zero sum game and I'm tired of people responding to people who like to imagine her as gay by complaining that women don't need romance when those same people don't say anything about straight romances.

Mte. I'm gay and appreciate the interpretation of Elsa as a lesbian. I don't care if some people see her as aromantic. Why can't she just be significant to everyone who is moved by her as a character?

But my issue here is: we have surprisingly refreshing canon, why create a potential parallel canon where CLEARLY she's not into guys and that's why she hasn't got one? For once I could have gone with what we have, and it's not her being asexual, mind you, it's just a not evil Disney Queen being without any love interest for the whole length of a Disney movie.

Now that's groundbreaking.

Why not create a potential parallel canon though? You can enjoy with what you have, and people who want to imagine Elsa as gay/bi can enjoy that. I'm not sure why that's a problem for you.

I guess if you put it that way I realize I'm coming off wrong here.

Of course I don't mind that people read her as gay or bi or hetero, I just don't understand why that's become the main wank issue, while it wasn't even remotely addressed in the movie.

I guess I'll go be that crazy tumblr anon that goes, 'woooes, i hate ships how dare u you are all stupid' on people's asks and fulfill my apparent purpose.

Even if you read her as gay, she still doesn't have a love interest for the whole movie. I'm not understanding the issue here.

That's my stance on it too. Maybe I'm missing something?
