(Anonymous) 2014-02-02 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)I mean I was already reading the manga something like a year before the anime and fandom boom happened and they had some fans at that time, then with the Castle Utgard part, the pairing started getting even more love and became popular because we had more material about them.
So yeah they have been my OTP for a while for a lot of other reasons than popularity and I think that's the case for a lot of people but maybe I don't see the bigger picture because I admit I tend to stay in my little corner ^^"
