I never understood why Edward didn't go to college. He's apparently a genius, wouldn't high school get really boring? At least he'd have more options.

I think he has gone to college several times. From what I understand, they go to high school for a few years then move on to college and then cycle back to high school when they've stayed in one place for too long. Don't ask me why this seemed like their best option though.

It's so stupid. I still look like a teenager though I'm in my twenties, and my solution to people being surprised by that isn't to pretend to go to high school forever.

yes, this. I looked like a teenager for ten extra years. Did not prevent me from moving out, going to college and grad school, working full time, or forming adult friendships. People just go, "Oh, you look younger," and accept it. Plus the Meyerpires also have features (like being really built) that cut against interpreting them as teenagers.

what they said in the books was that it allowed them to stay in one place longer… like if they started out with people thinking they were sixteen or so, they could hang around for longer without visibly aging than they could if they started out claiming to be 25 or whatever.
