I like the fact that on FFnet, people don't gasp and behave as though you're Betraying Your Art if you like readers leaving you reviews.

There are definitely different expectations on the two sites. Fewer reviews in general are left on AO3.

I've never seen a writer asking for reviews on AO3, or threatening to withold the next chapter until they get reviews, which I've seen on ff.net (although quite a while ago).

I like being able to leave kudos, and I'm happy not having to answer comments, so I'm happy with AO3. If you prefer comments, perhaps post to ff.net.

Everyone's different. I've been told I'm 'fake' and 'hypocritical' for not caring much about reviews and slagged off behind my back. I left fandom for a while.

If only we could just hold hands around the world and sing as one.

Except if those reviews are a million "lol good update pls" (my experience), I might as well not be getting reviews. I'm not getting anything out of it that I can't get through the kudos system.
