Idk. Maybe to make him more "masculine" looking?

(Well at least you know there is another person out in the world, who has checked this secret way too many times, trying to figure out what's wrong? I hope Hiddles doesn't google himself either... and not because of this thread, haha.)

To me it seems like they've tried to address two of the (IMO) very minor criticisms of The Avengers figure and messed up. Some people felt the head looked a bit small on the body (without the helmet) and that the skin on his face was a bit smooth without some of the natural creases in Tom/Loki's skin. I think all they've achieved is they've now made the head too thick.

And as a personal nit pick I don't think the expression is very Loki seeing as he spends most of TDW being a bit more of a troll than usual. I would've thought a smirk would make more sense than a mostly serious glare.

Yeah...I'll hold up my hands as another one who has studied this head sculpt too closely!

I just looked up his Avengers figure and his head does look small compared to his body. I think it's the angle that his head sits at. It makes Loki look like he has no neck.

I do think his face look better, however. Maybe a bit smooth, but his facial features look a lot more closer to rl Tom than naught.

A mischievous smile would have been nice, I agree.

(Now I've studied two Loki figures closely, haha.)

The Avengers figure definitely seems to have been made to be displayed with the helmet. And given how much of a pain it is to fit I don't know why anyone would take it off once they've got it on!

But yes, it is a bit distracting once you realise the head it a little on the small side. From certain angles in photos it's not so bad but definitely the shoulders are wide enough for it to be noticeable. Maybe Hot Toys should've done something to the body rather than the head for the new one?

And yes IMO the face looks more accurate on The Avengers Loki, even if it is a bit smooth skinned.

There's sort of a smirk on that one too but it's not especially evident. Having looked at more than just Loki though it seems Hot Toys favour neutral or stern expressions on their figures.

(Sorry for bringing that upon you, except for not really hehe!)

Maybe Hot Toys should've done something to the body rather than the head for the new one?

I think that would have been a better idea. Slim the body down and you'd have a pretty nice figure.

Too bad that favour neutral/stern expressions. I guess they're easier to make? Less facial wrinkles? Idk.

(Haha. It's been a figure learning experience for me.)

It looks better in person than it does on the websites, honestly.
elaminator: (Thor/Thor)

Eh, he should look like himself! He's masculine enough imo.

I hope Hiddles doesn't google himself either... and not because of this thread, haha.

Dear god... I very much agree with that point.

I think he's masculine enough too. My thought was just that they tried to make him more Thorish... like in an abundant muscle way.

Hiddleston has more of a "feminine" shaped face tho, as far as these measures go.
