Amen.

I'm so sick of the word 'problematic.' It's sounds so condescending and bitchy. If somebody thinks something is problematic then they can Sierra Tango Foxtrot Uniform and make something better.

I think it's a useful word because it creates a distinction from things written by unrepentant bigots and things written by well-intentioned people who just may have some unexamined stuff.

That's one way it could be used. The other way is some condescending, self-satisfied teenage shit explaining how my favorite book/movie/character/whatever is problematic because it isn't an accurate portrayal of X demographic that the teenage shit doesn't belong to.

I agree, it did mean that for a while and it was great. But Tumblr SJWs literally cannot form the abstract concept of a well-intentioned person who missteps, so they've ruined a perfectly useful word.

If you think that sort of thing started on Tumblr, you must not get out much. Kneejerk black-and-white thinking doesn't just predate modern social networking sites, it predates the entire internet.

I rebel by using it in accordance with its actual definition. I.E. "I was gonna make cookies, but the lack of counter space is problematic."
