I never understood how hard it was to just..make a code name that isn't so easily stumbled on for the porn (for tumblr) or just, you know MARK it as NSFW?

I know any porn (I'm MH fandom more than MLP, pony porn just isn't my thing.) I make is tagged, and tagged without using words that would pop up in regular tag list.
IE: If I drew Fluttershy in a porny way, I'd tag it 'nsfw fluttershy', or 'inappropriate fluttershy' than JUST her name. I've seen a pony MH blog do this with all names, and it works pretty well to keep the porn out of the main area.

Also, on tumblr, they have a 'porn name' for all MH porn: Moanster High. Which? Kinda clever in a way. So all artists know to put that porn in that tag, not Monster High itself.

TL;DR: Tagging shit so kids can't find it: Kinda not hard at all!

that assumes that the person posting is familiar with those tumblr tags, though. if someone brand-new to tumblr posts something nsfw, they probably wouldn't be aware that those tags exist and would do the logical thing, which would be to tag it with the character name, series, and maybe a separate nsfw tag. some people don't tag things with any tag beyond the main series one and maybe the character in the image.

a lot of tumblr users just plain aren't very savvy on how tumblr tags work, not out of any malice but because they just don't know.
