Re: Question from college prof to students

Oh, I certainly didn't have the luxury of attending college just to learn things I was curious about. And I've only met one person in my life who just went to college to learn about stuff he was interested in; he came from a wealthy family and as far as I can tell has never needed to work.

I think employment should be the end goal of college 100%. I just don't think that exciting intellectual curiosity and preparing students for the work force should be as mutually exclusive as they currently end up being in practice.
