Just tell them. I had a friend tell me something like this and you know what? I was like, "okay" and I fucking dropped it. If your friend throws a fit they're a ninny.

I feel disappointed and a bit sad when I recommend to friends something I really love and they don't give it a try. I can understand OP's feelings. I doubt they think there will be any kind of drama, they just probably want to avoid disappointing their friend. At least that's how I feel when I'm in that situation (right now I've a friend telling me to watch Once Upon a Time and I don't know how to tell them that I don't want to watch an average show without sounding like a pretentious piece of shit).

How disappointed do you feel? Because... it shouldn't be as much as you're implying if it's causing you to tiptoe around your friends.

Just a bit. Like "I love this, It's a shame that I can't share it with someone I care about and we can discuss it and love it together".

Yeah, I get that. I had that feeling.

Maybe I'm weird though cause I got over that feeling after a few minutes.

Nah, you're just a well-adjusted individual who doesn't place immense value on what media you consume.

I'm on F!S. I can't be that well-adjusted.

A+

I can understand being disappointed if you recommended something to someone and they never check it out period, even to learn a bit about it. But even if you have a good idea of someone's tastes, you're never going to predict with 100% accuracy if they are going to like something.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
