I consider the art and the video separate things. I think the videos are interesting. I think the art is pretty. I guess I'm a fan of both but I consider them different fandoms, if that makes sense. One is the fandom of the videos. One is the fandom of one artist's work and the other fanwork that sprung up around it.

Cause really, the two things have nothing to do with one another.

I would agree with this. The art work fandom is the very definition of "inspired by," because it has really nothing to do with the vids.

Inspired by is the phrase. I think fanon!Notepad is quite different from canon!Notepad. Clock is more accurate, at least in my opinion.
