Just a few minutes ago I saw Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on HBO for the first time in a few years and I forgot about the awkward slow clap ending the school gave Hagrid. Like, why did they do it? It just reminds me of the sports cliche of the sliw clap. Doesn't seem to belong in a Harry Potter film.

Yeah that bothered me too. Hagrid isn't even very well-liked except by the trio.
