Re: For fandoms' sake!
I have to admit that I kind of roll my eyes at fandom's reaction for things like this. Pretty much all non-fandom people are gonna think it's weird to draw fanart or write fanfiction of fictional characters fucking each other, and I say this as someone who writes explicit fanfic. You kind of just have to accept most people are going to think you're a weirdo and move on. I think the reason fandom gets so upset when actors say this is because they seek an unhealthy amount of validation from them.

I think it's also an issue of people discussing this stuff in fandom echo chambers where everyone is equally into it, and then not knowing if or how to let it bleed out in non-fandom spaces. I don't think people should feel they need to be in the closet about fandom - I'm certainly not - but it shouldn't be a big surprise that not everyone is going to be interested in (or at least blase about) the porn.
