It's been ten years since Angel ended and I'm still not used to Alexis Denisof's real, American accent. It throws me off every time!

Me too! His real accent sounds...off.

Threw me off too when I was watching Whedon's version of Much Ado About Nothing.

Me too! Marsters I can mostly deal with, especially if his hair isn't shellacked blond, but Denisof just throws me every time.

His irl voice sounds so strange. Not right to my ears.

(/just finished Angel for the first time earlier this week)

Denisof is actually American, but was raised in both the US and UK, so both his accents are "real".

There will be at least one person today who just finds out he is not in fact British.

Out of curiosity, is his accent considered good? (the British one, I mean.) I don't have the best ear for that stuff, so I'm always impressed by people who learn an accent well.

He's going to be in Salt Lake City Easter weekend.

He does the whole British thing quite well, I think.

Ha, me too. Spikes accent is ingrained in my head and it's hard to separate him from it.

I remember that he's American now since I saw him a bunch on that X and O's show with Whoopie, Torchwood, Warehouse 13 and Smallville. I got used to his American accent, but oddly enough, not his brown hair.

I forget sometimes too, he does a good job with it, not only the accent but the correct use of British slang too.

Disagree. There are places where a native Brit would go "eh?". Down to the scriptwriters of course.

I think at this point, I've heard him talk with his own accent enough to accept it.

I was however, surprised when I discovered Juliet Landau is also not British, since I've never seen her in a role that wasn't Dru.

Given she's the daughter of Martin Landau (yes, THAT Martin Landau), I wasn't surprised.
