I can get down with that. I'm not for having children shriek or question what's going on - at least while I'm there.

I try to go in the morning or the middle of the day, but half of the time I see a child there anyway, like do these kids go to school at any time?

There's always kids too young for school or kid's being homeschooled. Or it's a school holiday. My kid gets Valentine's day off for some reason this year.

Yeah, but President's day isn't until Monday. Why do they get Friday off, too?

This. I'm in the US and we have never gotten V-day off, or a Friday off for a Monday holiday weekend. That's very strange.

It depends on the school district. If your kids school is like mine, teachers will still go in for meetings this Friday (some only have to go for a half-day). So, teachers'll work, but your kids have off.

But, it really depends on your district. For the past 10 years or so, we've always had a 4 day weekend in Feb (which I love, because the 15th is my birthday). Some schools may even pull that Friday off first, instead of pulling days from Spring Break, if they go over their allotted snow days.
