Unless she's formula feeding, there is no way a mother can be parted from her newborn for very long, and even then it's damaging to both. Also, immediately after birth is when a lot of hormone-fueled animal instinct kicks in and you just don't want to be away from the baby in case you have to defend it from predators.

But honestly, I think you should pirate, OP. You'll have just made a human being, take a small indulgence.

...FOR TWO HOURS?

YOU BELIEVE IT WILL BE DAMAGING FOR THE BABY TO BE SEPARATED FROM THE MOTHER FOR THE LENGTH OF AN X-MEN MOVIE?

ARE YOU A BIOLOGIST FROM ANOTHER PLANET

It's like these people don't realize that new mothers typically don't really get maternity leave. I've never worked at a place where a new mother stayed out more than a month after the baby was born.

Didn't you know? If someone is separated from their baby for more than an hour the baby no longer recognizes their scent. You've lost your baby forever at that point and you might as well start over.

...they can't be parted for 2-3 hours? Really? I'm calling bullshit on this one.

Unless she is suddenly in the "Universe of the Four Gods" from Fushigi Yuugi where an hour in our world is several weeks in the FY-verse, it won't be damaging to the baby, believe me.

For a newborn infant under one week old? Uh, yes, a 90 minute action movie can absolutely be harmful.

I wasn't referring to taking the baby to the cinema, but being separated from the baby for two hours. I would never take a baby to the cinema, because, as you said it, it's harmful to the baby's hearing.
