I have an obsession for crossovers that pair crime shows with shows that have magical or scifi elements (Criminal Minds/Harry Potter, CSI/Doctor Who, etc.). Or crossovers of things with two very different types of magic where the author manages to seamlessly integrate them.

I like crime/magic-or-scifi crosses too, because I feel the best working crossovers are when it's a mundane concept and a non-mundane, with the mundane characters having to puzzle out the non-mundane factors.

Crossing magical systems is a lot harder, as is crossing magic and scifi. It takes a good writer to do either, and often the easiest solution is to choose one and have it the dominant factor and explain the other through it (like all magic is merely a science we don't understand).
