this is always something that bothered me. how does having an abundance of anime make playing a tv/book/movie character any different? is it that you can't imagine in your mind how an animated character can interact with a character that appears flesh and blood?

I don't get how that makes things any different in an RP. interactions are interactions, characters are characters no matter their source.

You really put a lot of words in my mouth. Or, er, text in my comment, I suppose. I wasn't saying that having a lot of Anime characters changes the tv/book/movie characters at all. The interactions aren't what bother me, either-- I'm happy to throw a character of mine into a crazy situation with robots and talking babies or whatever the hell is going on, I never suggested that either.

What I meant was, when there is an abundance of popular anime characters present, people are more apt to respond to them (familiarity, I suppose?) than an obscure book, tv, or movie character. I can speak personally that many characters I've played receive considerably less response than some anime characters, consistently. (Bawwww, right?) Albeit, there are certain popular movie characters, or TV show characters, that get plenty of attention in their own right.

I think wanting a more book/tv/movie heavy multifandom is completely warranted. Why not? It's not going to hurt anyone. There are plenty of multifandoms catering to anime lovers, let me want what I want.

tl;dr -- STFU and let me hope for a less anime overrun multifandom. Its probably not going to happen, anyway.

Thank you so much. I'm not the op, but still agree with this more than enough to merit commenting. If there is a multifandom game that primarily caters to book/movie/tv characters and the concept is nice - I'm in.
