D-: How long has IP logging been on??? I thought you only turned it on the one time you mentioned it last week, when a nonny was replying to themselves!! I mean, I thought you turned it on, in the thread that you said it was on, at that time, not that it had been on for a while.

Can you please add a note with every post when IP logging is turned on? It might also deter the trolls, too. Maybe that nonny didn't realize it was on, that's why she/he/it started something.

An IP logging notice should be right above the post comment button whenever it's turned on.

I have never ever ever seen this...either I fail at reading/noticing this, or my severely locked-down browser isn't giving me the warning. :-(

If it helps, the only person who would have seen the IPs was Case. So unless he's spreadsheet anon, you're probably fine. :)

An anon who mentioned once or twice that they keep track of any useful people write here and keep it complied on a spreadsheet.

Though, it's been a while since we've heard from them last, so I'm not really sure if they're still around. Though, it's entirely possible because of the reaction they got from mentioning it, they've decided to keep it on the down low for forever.

Though, that was after case turned off IP logging, so maybe it doesn't hold true. Idk.

The warning for IP logging when it's on is actually UNDER the "post comment" button, so it's easy to miss if you have a widescreen monitor and the address bar displayed on your browser.

IP logging was only turned on for anonymous commenters, so it wouldn't have notified you if you were commenting while logged in. :)

What sporkly said! There's a notice every single time you post and IP logging is on. If you were logged in, you didn't see it because it was only on for anons.

No, like others said, case is the only one who can see the IP. So unless you start identifying yourself as Paranoia!Anon in all of your posts, you're good.

Hi. I'm a mod on another comm where everyone is anon, and for troll-controlling reasons we have IP logging on.

Nobody but mods can see the IPs, and there's not much we can do with them other than tell whether those three really wanky anons are in fact all the same person.

I'm sure it's possible to do more with an IP than that, but the mod would have to 1) know how and 2) be that much of a stalker. Since I've never seen any evidence of Case being a creepy stalker asshole, I'm unconcerned about posting here.

As near as I can remember, Case has used it very sparingly to identify and prune the kind of trolls that are more disruptive/annoying then the likes of me.
