(Anonymous) 2014-02-09 12:19 am (UTC)(link)That said it isn't uncommon for many in the USA/Canada, even if they identify as black, white etc; to have a native ancestor somewhere in the family tree if they look back far enough. If your ancestors were living here for generations between 1600-1800, it isn't too unlikely they may have married a member of the native population.

Yeah, that's what I was saying. It's just such a common thing that I'm usually just like "yeah, me too" and kind of shrug and move on to the next topic.
