Re: Stupidest Thing You've Ever Hear Out of a Doctor
Recently I had a doctor who didn't want to prescribe me the one drug that we've found that works for my migraines and yet couldn't suggest anything she thought would work better. She just didn't want to write a prescription for a narcotic even if I should actually be on it.

Yeah, no, turns out I just have asthma. I do all kinds of fun strenuous stuff, and if I get short of breath, I just use my inhaler and keep going. Looking back, I can't believe it was something I felt bad about, or that I was so convinced it was my fault. :/

And gym teachers were the worst. Being made to run the mile every semester with everyone despite the fact that I had an asthma attack every time and had to go to the hospital a couple of them. Being told I was lazy when I clearly couldn't breathe.

She's gotten better over the years, though.
Re: Stupidest Thing You've Ever Hear Out of a Doctor
My parents both had their own health issues (my dad had cluster migraines that didn't get diagnosed until college in part because of the above grandmother), so they understand and believe me when I'm sick. We're kind of just a family of health issues. My sister has celiac.
