Re: Stupidest Thing You've Ever Hear Out of a Doctor

I'm in America, and even when visiting a gynecologist in a situation where I was supposed to report my sexual history and practices, I wasn't asked about "bisexual practices". When my nurse-practitioner brought up sexual risks, it was a general "these sexual acts/practices lead to higher risks for STDs/certain STDs" (i.e. anal sex often leads to tearing that leads to a much higher risk for things like HIV). No association with a specific orientation or gender/sex identity. Hell, even when discussing birth control options, it was things like "this method really depends on monogamy" vs "this one is good for people who are forgetful", etc.

I'd definitely find that sort of questioning rather suspect. If you ever get that again, I'd suggest seeing if there is a way you can speak up on the matter.
