What I'm getting from this is that you dislike how Ship fic has an extremely narrow and twisted focus towards what shippers want. Like when someone takes a canon you love and skews and selectively ignores until two people and their feelings for each other are all that matters and it feels wrong.
But fanfic is always about manipulating canon to get what we want out of it, so...
