Good point, OP. I didn't really think of it before, but yeah, I'm underwhelmed by how many shows just HAVE to have teen protagonists and all the usual high school cliches. Maybe I'm getting old and cranky, but high school sucked balls and I'm not interested in re-living it via my entertainment.

I loved my time in high school, but teen stuff became completely and utterly boring the minute I moved on to the next phase of my life. So much of it proved to be really unimportant in the long run.
