But you'd still be getting Matt playing the Doctor, and for me his take on the character was better than David's.

I'm not necessarily saying its plausible or even that it would necessarily be amazing. It was more of a wish fulfillment secret of imagining a Who where I could ignore both Moffatt and Ten because their Who take was together.

But he wouldn't be ANYTHING like the Eleven you know. It'd be Ten as played by Matt. Just as angsty and depressing.

Yep. This.

(Unless it's something about DT's face or voice or something else that he can't really change by acting differently (pun intended). If you're talking about the characterisation of 10 VS 11. Then my view is the following.)

Both Matt and David are great actors and they take their cues from the writing, I think Matt playing 10 would be almost the same Doctor as we got from David. And vice versa, 11 played by David would only be a slightly different 11th Doctor to what we got from Matt.
