While, I don't have that much experience with instruments, learning to do anything well will be a challenge because it takes hours upon hours of effort, experimenting, and challenging yourself.

If you're up for that and can motivate yourself to do that, I'd say go for it. Just make sure you'll have a sustained interest in it before starting.

It doesn't have to be serious thing, though, and there's plenty of different things you can do motivate yourself to practice.
