As an Asian who spent years of childhood with people making fun of my "weird eyes"... *sigh*

I know that's not your intent, OP. Still kinda hurts, though.

Not OP, and I honestly can't tell from the picture, but it sounds like OP sees something asymmetrical about her eyes that has nothing to do with her being Asian?

She has a lazy eye, and it *can* be disconcerting to people who are used to making eye contact and having it returned.

Seriously? I'm Asian too but I've never been picked on for my eyes (and for the record, mine look like they're closed whenever I smile).

Hee! so do mine and I'm of German heritage. Most of my Aunts and Uncles have the same problem. meh, not a problem so much I guess. if my eyes disappear, you know it's a real smile.

I have a girl in my Japanese class that is Japanese-German descent - is that you Sachiko? lol

Is your family from southern Germany? There are areas with a supposedly strong Hun influence in the genetic makeup of the inhabitants.

Chinese-American here. I was picked on for my "slanty eyes" (which is funny, because I naturally have double eyelids) and my "flat nose" quite frequently in my school years. Kids in my almost 99% white school thought it was hilaaaaarious to pull back their own eyelids and say things like "Ching ching chong, now I look just like you!" and other really awesome things.
