Well, yeah, it is racist.

1. Because that's what our eyes tend to look like when we are looking to the side. I suppose it's because many Asians have such dark eyes that it looks like we have big black dots, instead of being able to see what the pupil is looking at in the middle of the iris.

2. You called an Asians eyes "slanted". Our eyes don't "slant" ffs. They just tend to have less fat pads than white people and/or are monolidded.

I stopped watching before she came in. Do you mean she's cross-eyed (can't tell from the pic, but I find that sort of disconcerts me in general). If not, though, I don't see much wrong with her eyes.

Really? What I tend to think about is my terrible reason for shipping her and Allison, namely that I just want to recreate my Lara Croft/Sam Nishimura OTP.

I feel the same way when watching Grimm. The close shots of Juliette's eyes are a bit disorienting.

I don't get it... she looks like she's looking to the left. How is it slanted/crooked? Maybe if the images were her looking straight on and one pupil was noticeably more inward?

Yes, anon, that is petty.

If you're talking about her lazy eye (which it seems you are), then please stop thinking that way about lazy eyes. The reason people, like my brother, who have it are really self-conscious about it and/or have been (I know he was growing up) is because people make a much bigger deal about it than it really is.

And if that's not it...whatever it is that's bugging you about her eyes, it's really shallow. so yeah.

Jeez, OP, if it bugs you looking at it, try having the condition. Speaks someone who has had a headache every day of her life for the past five years and has to do eye therapy every freaking day.

But I guess she should not be on TV, huh?

I've never noticed anything wrong with her eyes. She's completely adorable.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
I actually find that an eye that turns in just a little like hers makes someone more attractive to me. It's just one of those weird "things" we all have. I also love eyes that are slightly too close-set.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
I actually really love her eyes. I find myself feeling like a bit of a creeper because I just kinda stare at her face in awe when she's on screen. So beautiful.

As for the slight lazy-eye thing that bothers you, seems to me that's just what some asian people look like when they look to the side. I'm sure her other eye would do the same if she looked the other way. Or at least it's a pretty common look in my family.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Despite the many many pretty people on the show, Teen Wolf seems to have several 'pretty' characters that have odd differences. Tyler Posey's chin for example. Who cares? They are all highly attractive and their differences make them seem more normal to me.

of course you are welcome to disagree, that's one of the great things about fandom and the internet.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 04:07 am (UTC)(link)

Wow, sorry you got dogpiled, OP. It's like no one can actually post less than stellar secrets anymore. Guess what peeps! They are called secrets for a reason not 'let me submit this image complaining why no one writes for my popular OTP!'.

As someone who ALWAYS looks at someone in their eyes when I'm having a conversation with them, I do happen to notice when things aren't symmetrical. Hell, it bothers me that my nose isn't symmetrical when looking up at it (the nostrils are the same size, but slightly over to the right so you can see more of the middle of my nose through the left nostril than the right).

I get the 'once seen, it can't be unseen' thing, I don't suddenly hate the actor because of this. I find both her and Tyler Posey friggen adorable with their little physical differences, that doesn't mean that I can't unsee it though, and that my eyes don't go immediately to that spot on their face when they're on screen. Whenever Scott shows up, my eyes dart to his jaw. I don't think it's bad, just one of those noticeable things.

I work with a few people who have lazy eyes, and my roommate had two operations on her eyes so that they wouldn't be crossed, and because of this her eyes don't sync up. Does it bother me and I think they should wear sunglasses? Nope. It's just something I notice. Just something about them, like my nose.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
It's not racist to be weirded out by someone's lazy eye, but... it's not really very admirable, either. I can see why this is a secret. It's okay, anon, as long as you treat people with kindness and empathy, but I can't help but hope that you outgrow being "bothered" by someone's physical appearance.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
OP, I have a lazy eye, except mine slants out instead of in. Because I am already self-conscious about it, I notice it in other people. Yes, I agree that it can be distracting. I wish I didn't have it in myself, to be honest.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
