(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 12:05 am (UTC)(link)1. Because that's what our eyes tend to look like when we are looking to the side. I suppose it's because many Asians have such dark eyes that it looks like we have big black dots, instead of being able to see what the pupil is looking at in the middle of the iris.
2. You called an Asians eyes "slanted". Our eyes don't "slant" ffs. They just tend to have less fat pads than white people and/or are monolidded.

If you're talking about her lazy eye (which it seems you are), then please stop thinking that way about lazy eyes. The reason people, like my brother, who have it are really self-conscious about it and/or have been (I know he was growing up) is because people make a much bigger deal about it than it really is.
And if that's not it...whatever it is that's bugging you about her eyes, it's really shallow. so yeah.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 02:40 am (UTC)(link)As for the slight lazy-eye thing that bothers you, seems to me that's just what some asian people look like when they look to the side. I'm sure her other eye would do the same if she looked the other way. Or at least it's a pretty common look in my family.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 03:08 am (UTC)(link)of course you are welcome to disagree, that's one of the great things about fandom and the internet.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-11 05:50 am (UTC)(link)As someone who ALWAYS looks at someone in their eyes when I'm having a conversation with them, I do happen to notice when things aren't symmetrical. Hell, it bothers me that my nose isn't symmetrical when looking up at it (the nostrils are the same size, but slightly over to the right so you can see more of the middle of my nose through the left nostril than the right).
I get the 'once seen, it can't be unseen' thing, I don't suddenly hate the actor because of this. I find both her and Tyler Posey friggen adorable with their little physical differences, that doesn't mean that I can't unsee it though, and that my eyes don't go immediately to that spot on their face when they're on screen. Whenever Scott shows up, my eyes dart to his jaw. I don't think it's bad, just one of those noticeable things.
I work with a few people who have lazy eyes, and my roommate had two operations on her eyes so that they wouldn't be crossed, and because of this her eyes don't sync up. Does it bother me and I think they should wear sunglasses? Nope. It's just something I notice. Just something about them, like my nose.
