There are a lot of "types," and they cut across genders, but it's this one particular type that seems to get singled out (of late, anyway. It certainly hasn't always been, nor will it always be). There's a reason these types exist, and it's not necessarily bad or wrong, and people can actually relate to some of those types (if they couldn't, then they wouldn't pop up so often and be so compelling).
