I only ever learned which is which through fandomsecrets; there was a secret awhile back with Dean's head photoshopped onto Cinderella's body, and Sam and Castiel were fighting over him. That's how I remember which one Dean is, and I get the other brother through process of elimination.

Dean is the one who apparently-isn't-actually-short-but-looks-short-standing-next-to-the-other-one.

It means OP should have made a comment about it in the original secret thread rather than making a new secret. OP might've gotten away with it if OP used a new pic for the secret. But, usually, case doesn't post secrets that are just comment that could've been made in a prior secret thread, or a continuation of an argument.

One of them was Dean on Gilmore Girls, and isn't Dean on Supernatural. That kept me from watching Supernatural at all.

Ouch. But basically true. Sad thing is I liked Jared on Gilmore Girls but I only liked him as Sam in the first couple seasons.

But seriously, if you're not in the fandom and don't watch the show I don't see why it would matter. Unless you're like me and enjoy writing crackfic for canons you haven't seen.
