Every Destiel fic I've read has Dean as the bottom but I can't quite pinpoint the reason for it

I've read a close to equal amount, but the stuff that's more in character usually has Dean on the bottom.

Really? I have read tons of Destiel and it seems pretty even, with Dean being a little ahead.

I've found the opposite. My preference is for submissive!Dean whether he's on the bottom or top, but more what I've seen is dominant and top!Dean.

I actively seek out sub Dean stuff. There is definitely a group of us who like it, but I find the general preference is for top/dominant Dean
