EVERYTHING! I DID NOT GO THROUGH ALL THOSE MINUTES OF TORMENT IN THE SECOND MOVIE TO HAVE HIM DIE IN THE THIRD ONE!

But yeah, the delicious, delicious tears of book purists would be wonderful, too.

Trust me, actual purists who don't ENJOY being grumpy gave up in movie 1, assuming they hadn't had enough with PJ's crap at the end of RotK. Any remaining either a) aren't actually purists, or b) are the kind of person who enjoys hate-watching something (whether they'll admit that or not) and so would actually enjoy the changes.
