Blah blah blah blah blah listen to me pretend to know anything blah blah blah imma embarass my fellow Catholics now blah blah blah do ai sound pretentious enough yet? blah blah blah here's some stuff that has nothing to do with Harry Potter or Dumbledore and has never been taught in any Bible study Iceyred has ever attended blah blah blah this is from 2007 who cares?

Hence, in the Harry Potter books, the one person we know about thus far who made an attempt to pursue the gay lifestyle: 1) lost his sense of morality, 2) attempted to abandon his responsibility as head, protector, and provider of a family, and 3) the casualty was a girl, in this case his younger sister, who ended up dead because of his negligence.

I would hardly call this an endorsement of the gay lifestyle.

From the Pope himself

Congrats. You copied and pasted a part of the article. I'm very proud of you.

In case anybody missed it, here's some stuff from Pope Frank (and some other people):

http://www.advocate.com/politics/religion/2013/10/10/pope-francis-writes-private-letter-gay-catholics

http://www.advocate.com/politics/transgender/2013/12/31/funeral-murdered-trans-woman-held-popes-church

http://www.catholicregister.org/news/international/item/17553-indian-cardinal-opposed-to-criminalization-of-same-sex-relationships

http://www.advocate.com/politics/religion/2013/09/19/pope-francis-church-shouldnt-interfere-spiritually-lgbt-lives

I'm not about to give the Church an A+ for it's modern treatment of the LGBT community, but what the OP posted is not representative of the Catholic faith.

To be fair, the article was written before Francis was pope. And that's not to say there aren't many other Catholics who are perfectly fine with LGBT people; I went to Catholic school in a pretty liberal area and know a ton of them. And ftr, I'm queer and non-Catholic.

Good points. I just get tired of people constantly screaming about the ebul Catlics and our constant hate and homophobia. I'm not the brightest crayon in the box, and I dunno half of what language to use and what's considered condescending and/or used only in academic research now, but I'm not a hate monger and neither is anybody I'm close to at Church.

+1

DA, but +1

Yeah.

I'm not a Catholic anymore, but people say this stuff, and I compare it to the people I knew growing up - the priests and the nuns and the teachers and the lay community - and it just has no resemblance to my experience.
