As a rule I don’t like OT3 (or more) because poly is a huge squick for me, but in this case I agree with you. Not because I like the three of them together in the traditional sense, but because by the end of last season I came to feel that they deserve each other, and not in a good way. Mary’s an ex-freelance assassin who shoots people so that her husband won’t find out she was a hired killer and leave her. John is the husband so desperate or detached that he doesn’t recognize this for the psychotic and abusive behavior it is and stays with her. Sherlock also shoots people so John won’t leave Mary and encourages him to stay with her because he’s so obsessed with John and John's happiness that he makes Dean Winchester look like the picture of perfect mental health by comparison. All three of them are freakin' nuts. So, yes, I support sticking the three crazy people together so that Molly will have a shot with someone nice like Lestrade. And no one else will have John or Mary inflicted upon them as a partner.

Yes, I definitely see them together. Trapped in that room from No Exit, with just each other to torment with their psychotic, abusive, codependent nonsense, thereby saving the rest of the characters in that universe from the train wreck a relationship with any one of them would be.

I hope you realise how problematic being squicked by poly relationships is.

DA

Squicked might be the wrong word, but it's not wrong to find the idea of a poly relationship offputting. People have their preferences.

How it is problematic? Unless you live in a culture where you're required to participate in such relationships, I don't see why it would be a problem. If not, you like what you like and you don't like what you don't like.
