It's almost like they don't want to hear about anything that doesn't line up with their view of the world. I'd say it's that they only want to talk to people that already know their lingo, but the Sami person actually does know the right words (privilege! cultural appropriation!) and they're still not getting through because they're not trying to start a fight.

(Also, I despise the "all I read was...." thing. There's always more to the opposing argument than the person using that acknowledges, in my experience.)
