Could be the OP just saw a picture at some point (I hope only a picture) of a molester who happened to resemble the actor and the impression stuck.

I know there are times when I'll see a photo of someone accused or convicted of some awful crime and think, "Yeah, I can believe he (less often she) did that." It's not so much a person's features as something in their eyes and their expression, to me. Though come to think of it, now that the OP has brought it up, when I think "child molester" the image that immediately comes to mind is one of a mature dark-haired white male.

I still try not to prejudge people based on appearances, though. Looks can be deceiving.
