I've read that book.(Wasn't too keen on the ending. Too abrupt. Though it turns out, while Morrisey was living in California, you could do exactly what they wanted to do. Walk up to his house and say, "hi."

Still, The Smiths have better songs than "How soon is now?" It's worth going through their discography. It may actually be a tipping point to find out similar bands to them. For example, if you like The Smiths, try The Drums, Echo and The Bunnymen, New Order and Bye Bye Bicycle,
