The one time I participated in a bigbang:

1) My story was chosen last (maybe second to last?) by the artist
2) The artist in question dropped out like the day I was supposed to post
3) The replacement artist put together a photo-manip thing based on a brief description (i.e., without reading the fic) because "she didn't read slash".

And that was my first and last experience with a big bang :D

Mine was the opposite. My artist didn't read het, and drew art of an original character rather than anything to do with the het pairing.

Oh lord. What is it with some of these people?

My artist couldn't wait, but posted her art to the comm 2 days early.

Aaaaand... it featured a spoiler of the big plot twist.

I was polite about it at the time, because who likes butthurt, but - SO not writing for a Big Bang ever again.

There are photo-manips and there are photo-manips. Some people can do good, artistic ones, some people... how shall I put this nicely... can't.
